​Instagram, 2021 

  • Drove product teams across three orgs to pivot goals and metrics for future Metaverse media strategy after failing to validate product assumptions over 2 months of rapid research using surveys, in-depth interviews, and media analysis to understand consumer and creator audiences across apps.

  • Led iterative usability testing and qualitative feedback for launch of Horizon Worlds media sharing feature resulting in 3% increase in user engagement. 

  • Informed privacy policy and features for new product launch and identified privacy a key principle for future product development based on user feedback and privacy best practices.

  • Scaled research efforts by establishing a rolling research program to conduct evaluative research for new experiences on two apps.

  • Strengthened team culture by crafting onboarding documents and syntheses of past research.

Portal, 2020 

  • Managed one direct report, created research headcount plan, and got stakeholder buy-in resulting in a 300% increase in research team size. 

  • Developed insights-driven framework for jobs-to-be-done that drove creation of the team’s mission, vision, and strategy. Identified 7 new product features that shipped for the Portal for Business launch

  • Informed market positioning and client partner strategy for product launch utilizing competitive analyses, small business market segmentation, and in-depth interviews during alpha and beta product release. 

  • Published monthly “World of Work” internal newsletter for all B2B stakeholders to socialize research POV and supporting insights from related UX, data insights, marketing research, and customer experience teams.

  • Collaborated with hardware research team to integrate research throughout product, design, and QA processes in the team’s product development guidelines.

Oculus, 2018

  • Led Rift S (VR headset) UX research and coordinated research roadmaps across hardware and software researchers to inform Rift S product launch

  • Established qualitative and quantitative UX metrics framework to inform go/no-go launch decision for Rift S. Evolved framework into a UX health scorecard and scaled its adoption across four AR / VR research teams.

  • Conducted generative user journey studies and evaluative usability testing for Rift Home, resulting in a redesigned new user experience, improved user sentiment, and increased product engagement. 

  • Acted as Lead for Mobile System UX, prioritizing research efforts across 7 product managers to launch a new system UI designincluding innovations in multitaskingPC connectivity, and hand tracking as an input. 

  • Instituted framework for general computing to support 5-year vision for AR and VR hardware/software development at Reality Labs utilizing digital ethnography.

  • Facilitated knowledge sharing across user research, data insights, customer experience, and marketing insights functions through weekly research roundtables and quarterly insights summits to inform product planning.
